Research has shown that reading is one of the most important skills a child can learn. For a child to become a fluent/strong reader, they need to be reading everyday. Each evening your child will be asked to read a book(s) of their choice for 15-20 minutes. You can read together or they can do independent reading. Please sign your child's planner to show that they have read and I will stamp.

Daily practice: sight words read and spell/ addition and subtraction facts for fluency

There may be other nightly homework. If your child is having difficulty, please send the homework back with a note. I do not want homework to be time consuming or frustrating for any child.
